Just what exactly Is a MTB?
For several years one type of bike dominated the landscape: racing bikes. With narrow seats, downwards bending handles, along with a sleek appearance, they were what everybody rode. Today, mountain bikes are everywhere.

The phrase ATBs or 'All Terrain Bikes' sums up the concept. It signals a bike that will go anywhere - dirt trails, unpaved mountain roads, and a lot more. But, in recent years, the addition of new front and rear suspension designs has helped enormously.
That suspension comes in four fundamental kinds today. Fully rigid models are simply straight forks with no cushion or shock absorbers. A hard tail lacks rear suspension. A soft tail, by contrast, has basic rear suspension where the frame flexes. Dual suspension provides front and back cushion, along with a rear shock that enables wheel pivot.
